Profectus Recruitment are working in connection with software house based in Guildford who are seeking a Quality Assurance Tester with to join their growing team!

Salary £22k -£30k

Pole Star, a leading Enterprise Asset Management Software supplier, is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team to allow us to improve on the quality of their software.

 

Reporting to their System Support Manager, the ideal candidate will be a smart forward thinker with a real passion for testing. The day to day role will involve updating the test strategy, performing manual and automated tests and writing new tests for existing and new components of the software. The successful candidate will work on site with their existing development and support team, joining an established company looking to continue its growth and further reinforce its position as a market leader in its sector.The candidate who fills the role of a Quality Assurance Engineer in their team will be involved in building and creating testing solutions from the requirements stage through to deployment. A successful candidate is self-motivated, innovative, thinks outside the box, has excellent communication skills and can work with stakeholders from both the business and technology with ease.

 

Responsibilities

   Manual testing of mobile application building test plans and manage test cases

   Creating and executing regression tests

   Interact with the Support team to help solve live issues and maintain an exceptional level of customer service.

   Investigating new test tools/methodologies and integrating them

   Designing, implementing and documenting test environments and frameworks

   Executing a wide range of functional and non-functional tests, manual and automated

   Validating defects raised by other team members and verifying fixes

   Analysing test data and producing test reports

   Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

   Creating automated tests for the continuous build system

 

Required Skills 

   Evidence of working with test planning / test case management tools

   Write test cases

   Regression testing

   2 years relevant experience directly related to the responsibilities of this role

   Appropriate degree or HND in IT / programming related subject

   Strong communication skills

   Strong problem-solving skills

   Experience designing, developing and executing unit, integration, system and performance tests

   Experience with defect management systems and workflows

   Good written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skill

 

Optional Skills

   Testing of Xml/SOAP/JSON/REST

   Exposure to testing frameworks (Junit, Selenium etc)

As a QA joining their team the successful applicant will need to have a natural aptitude for development, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve project goals. They should also be able to work on their own initiative to resolve problems and issues without constant direction from others. The job may lead on to managing a QA team.
