Job Title: Senior Azure Data Developer (Contract)
Location: UK-based, Remote (Monthly trip to Reading preferred)
Contract Type: Outside IR35
Day Rate: Up to £500-£570/day
Duration: 6 months (extension likely)
Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Developer for a contract role with a leading organisation in the automotive sector. This is a hands-on role focused on designing and delivering enterprise-grade data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. You’ll play a key part in building scalable data pipelines, supporting cloud data architecture, and ensuring data quality, governance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure
- Work closely with architects on data modelling and cloud storage solutions
- Implement CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps for automated deployment
- Apply best practices in coding, version control, and secure data handling
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot pipeline issues
- Mentor junior team members and promote engineering best practices
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, etc.)
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and API-based data integrations
- Deep understanding of cloud data architecture and security
- Hands-on with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code
- Familiarity with data governance, monitoring tools, and performance tuning
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

- Remote working (UK-based candidates only, 1 or 2 trips to Reading a month preferred)
