IT Support Engineer (1st & 2nd Line)
Profectus has a brand new opportunity for a small MSP in Oxfordshire. The position Technical Support Specialist is required for support their clients in their day to day computer and IT operations.
The position involves spending 3 days a week working on site at a major client supporting 60+ users and 9 Servers, as well as from time time attending other client sites all within the Oxfordshire area. It is therefore essential you drive and have access to a call however all mileage is expensed.
The position requires someone with circa 3-5 years experience in IT, with good knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, including Servers.
Ideally with experience of both Windows 7/8/10/11 and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 operating systems. To work in these environments requires some understanding of server components, such as Active Directory, DHCP,DFS and DNS. An understanding of network basics, with the ability to troubleshoot with simple network tools such as ping and nslookup is important. A knowledge and understanding of Ethernet networks, Switches, Firewalls, Routers and WiFi is essential.
A good knowledge of Microsoft Office products is important, in particular Microsoft Outlook working with Exchange online servers. It will be necessary to use an Office 365 portal to manage and maintain Office licensing and Exchange mailboxes
The position requires someone with the ability and discipline to work on their own when required, comfortable with using Project/Task management tools. A logical and organized approach to troubleshooting is essential, with the ability to focus when under pressure. The successful candidate will be given initial training to familiarize themselves with Customers Infrastructure, and will have access to level 3 support at all times.
